At 62 years old on May 21 2000, I’m perhaps beginning to believe in or becoming comfortable with antidepressants. Only the Lord knows with pin point accuracy what’s up with my consciousness, alcoholism drug addiction. With those negatives cast behind me I’m a very kind positive person, I love people not always the world and it’s turmoil, but mankind and it’s base potential.
All I wanted to convey was, Trazodone seams to be the subtle but effective relief not that I was necessarily searching for it just came upon me. It could be my age or an older persons apathetic mindset.
Thank you for your instructive positive perspective regarding this medication.

Last time I talked to my doctor my numbers were good but I am still weary of this drug. I have been using this drug for insomnia and in the past 2 years i have had what felt like 2 separate heart attacks. no disease in my family and I’m only just entering my 50’s so it really scared me. My EKG said i was below acceptable with a resting heart rate at 42. They say that is common for extreme athletes and i assure you, i am no athlete. lol. i have an appointment to go over what may have caused such a reaction. it wasn’t a panic attack, it wasn’t indigestion, just a glitch but how often am i experiencing these without even noticing? i just want to get back to a prescription free me. the meds help for acute symptoms but have just increased several symptoms i am being treated for… love the world of big pharma. not.

I was prescribed this med earlier in the week. I always look up drug info and interactions before I take something. Heart problems (long q-t or some such) has been loosely associated with the med.

As an uneducated consumer, it’s great to have all the information. We also need to take care NOT to jump to conclusions just because we read something (i.e. “I have a headache so it MUST be a brain tumor!!!” um… no).
Read the info, do the research, talk with your Doctor, listen to your body.

I only found one article describing heart block, which would loosely be in that category. I would cite your paper or take it out. This from a researcher and MD. There’s no need to worry patients unduly, especially when the medicine is safe, effective, and useful in multiple scenarios.

Took first dose last night 30 min before bed, fell asleep within the hour after taking it. Started getting a headache before I fell asleep, woke up a few times through the night, took Tylenol and fell back to sleep. It wasnt the best sleep and I feel very groggy this morning, still with the headache. Will try again tonight at 1//2 that dose to see if it helps. Any helpful suggestions are welcome.

I take 50 mg before bed and within 30 min I’m asleep, give or take. I have suffered from insomnia for many years. My old dr gave me benadryl, that was so bad. I’d wake up feeling like I had a hangover, not good. And the effect would be opposite sometimes and keep me up feeling wired. I used to toss and turn so bad, never getting comfortable. Now I wake in the same position as when I fell asleep and feel good. So this is what it’s like to sleep well. lol :)
