Yes, it may actually lower TH2 a little, but it lowers TH1 more, hence leading to TH2 dominance from zinc deficiency.

Weight walked up 100 lbs and GERD was debilitating. I began to use my body as a human guinea pig…the 1st supplement I took was a lectin shield or lectin blocker…a positive result was immediate. I cook with Ashibita, Wild Ramp (cholesterol dropped 30 pts in 90 days) , Three fold Blend Savory, Three Fold Blend Sweet (smoothies) and the low oxalate greens. I take 2 lectin blockers if I prepare any cruciferous vegetables. Fact is these powders are grown without the chemicals that I have developed sensitivities to. Looking forward to following your approach to wellness.

Can someone please clarify??

Hi Erika, which article are you referring to? In one study, quercetin reduced the Th2 response (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19061976). Other studies support its immune-balancing effects.
However, more research is needed and it’s not as straightforward.
For example, another study showed that it can increase the Th2 immune response when given together with an irritant, such as ovalbumin (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28380410). Quercetin didn’t have this effect when it wasn’t given at the same time as the irritant. This is beneficial! It means quercetin might work as a natural adjuvant to vaccines by boosting the immune response to foreign invaders (that is, their antigens).

This article says it can decrease Th2 dominance. Do you have any insight on the difference in this information? Thanks.

This is a great resource, but will be further improved by having one of the research team PhD’s go through this with a fine tooth comb and identify this inconsistencies and provide more nuance to the recommendations.

While Arachonic acid (Omega 6 fatty acid) is correlated with more hay fever.

If you have an autoimmune issue you have to start really low and work up the the final dosage. I took ldn 6 yrs ago for pain, and started at 4.5 mg with no problems. Went off after a couple years. Then my pituitary crashed after a miscarriage, due to autoimmune Hypophysitis. I went back on ldn because i was having much worse pain. I started at 4.5 mg and became very ill, that i stopped after 4 days because of severe nausea. I thought i had the flu! But turns out it was like rocket fuel for my pituitary. I had thyroid storm it tripled my TSH in 4 days. Made me hot, pouring sweat, sick. Felt just like when i had my cortisol stimulation test but worse, because it caused my adrenals to kick out so much homone all at once. So a year later when i figured out why i got so sick i started again but at 0.5 mg and gradually worked my way up to 4.5mg over 4-6 wks.

However…i notice that in the study, the rats had 13g of sugars/kg. So at 70kg I would need to take 1kg of sugar for it to be a problem. That’s a lot. I guess total quantity matters – I wonder what the result would be if they had only 6.5g/kg. But i guess the total load on the body matters – so if you have a little of this and a little of that – then the total load on the body would be too high. Food for thought – i will continue with a food rotation diet – ensuring not too much of anything and have the odd 24 hours fast

I really need to get a handle on this. I started LDN, and within days, my Sjogren’s symptoms escalated. Consequently, I have an almost full bottle of it that I’m afraid to use. I’m really, really hoping Joe can shed some light on this.

Look up Joel Wallach’s Dead Doctors Don’t Lie video and much if his other videos, and also a print form of Wallach encyclopedia, the kingmaker folks have transcribed excerpts of his various talks and put them under headings alphabetically. There I found calcium deficiency was a big problem with my insomnia. I was on every other supplement but not calcium as I figured I got plenty of dietary calcium. I was wrong. Plenty of other online docs I respected warn against deitary calcium, say we get too much. But Joel Wallach says no, we only get a fraction of our intake. I began to take 2000 mg a day and my arthritis reduced more, my leg cramps went away ( I had been treating w magnesium and vitamin D, but they weren’t enough). But also I began to be more receptive to melatonin. It had been ineffective for me for years. And the possible explanation I found was that the pineal gland was froze up and calcium was needed to make it active again. However I still need to take it, look up research from Russel Reiter on melatonin, he found it safe up to 100 mg but didn’t research any further. Know that alcohol damages the pineal and dry alcoholics can never recover it’s function. Fluoride also damages it, and I think that’s what happened to me.
More on sleep aides, lavender, and moringa and valerian. Valerian stinks like feet. Yes I still have to take a lot of things but I am healing from a lot of things.

It’s under “may increase Th2”, so in principle avoid.
