The neurological Lyme set in about 7 years ago and despite living very healthy and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars with highly regarded Dr’s and clinics I am still in the woods. The past year has been devastating because the disease has brought my way down psychologically! I am looking for legitimate supplements, herbs, nootropics etc. to get me back to my fighting self. I am currently doing NAD IV’s and am soon to start Ketamine. Will you give me any relevant information you have please.

Thank you for your feedback. We have revised and expanded upon the relationship between sarcosine and prostate cancer, referencing Khan et al, Neoplasia 2013.

While it is true that sarcosine can be used as a tumor marker for prostate cancer, this fact is only relevant in that this finding promoted further research demonstrating that sarcosine a) induces invasiveness of benign prostate cells, and more importantly b) sarcosine promotes prostate cancer growth and progression (in vitro and vivo).
No doubt sarcosine is a powerful tool for certain diseases, but providers must know and inform at least male patients of the sarcosine-prostate cancer relationship. For further see at least the study by Khan et al, Neoplasia 2013.

ALA, like glycine. has been shown to be a CO-agonist at NMDA excitatory amino acid receptors. although it has a weaker effect than glycine (Thomson. 1989) and is considered to be an inhibitory neurotransmitter (Cooper et al… 1991).”

Mon, 22 Oct 2018 20:41:36 +0000https://selfhacked.com/?p=47406#comment-40594I’d like to note that Nardil increases alanine levels and inhibits their transaminase, and alanine has a similar effect as glycine. Anybody seeking to augment with Sarcosine while on Nardil should be advised to start with a very low dose, like 500mh/d and titrate up slowly and with caution, lest they go overboard like I did at 2g/d and become extremely anxious and agitated.

I would like to know where I can get sarcosine/’n-methylglycine I live in michigan, near grand rapids. I can order it from where it is available. I tried a formulating pharmacy. They said they could not formulate it, legally.

Wed, 15 Aug 2018 17:07:00 +0000https://selfhacked.com/?p=47406#comment-37292I have had very good results with glycine. And the source I use is Beef Gelatin powder. This contains 30% glycine, and includes other agonists.it is easy to use. 1. Boil filtered water,2 put two tablespoons of this into a mug,3 pour boiling water on the beef gelatin in the mug,4 stir for 15 seconds. Add some cold fridge water, ans drink. You will realise an effect in 3-4 hours. Using this daily, for 7-10 days brings optimal metabolic/chemical efficiency. This glycine plus supplement opened up my NMDA recepter, that had been shut by PCP laced marijuana used some 45years ago. Many will be helped as I have been.ma miracle to me! [email protected]

Is there any adverse effects in under/over methylators.? This seems promising as an effective relief of nagging mood issues, that can inhibit our best function. Anyone?

Mon, 07 May 2018 06:53:42 +0000https://selfhacked.com/?p=47406#comment-33136Guys, I have commented on Sarcosine here before.
In my opinion agonizing nmda with sarcosine/d aspartic acid/admatine etc has a much better therapeutic effect on OCD than blocking glutamate receptors. A few reasons for this could be than nmda is dysfunctional as result of high glutamate, glutamate no longer ‘spills” over the ampa/kainate receptors and possible nmda gene expression is upregulated once function is restored. Anyways it’s worth a shot. It works well for me. Glutamate must be lowered however. That’s a no brainer. Thanks
