Hi Andrew, yes–insomnia or increased anxiety has been reported with phenylalanine. You may want to stop taking it for a while to see if you’re able to sleep better. Otherwise, there is no documented interaction between the supplements you’re taking. But if you’re unsure and take any prescription medication as well, be sure to consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Will dl-phenylalanine cause insomnia in some cases? It seems to keep me up at night. But I’m also taking other supplements with it like 5 htp vitamin c vitamin d multi vitamins . And at night time I take Passion flower extract and melatonin.. any help is appreciated

A bottled water, called ZERO, made by and sold at Walmart contains Phenylalanine. My son has been drinking it for a couple years , as it energizes him. I also was drinking it and found it curbed my appetite. I have lost 40 lbs. In less than a year, without really trying. So, if you need am energy boost or need to lose weight, give it a try.

Aspartame is a “popular compound?” Let me correct you on this one: Aspartame is a deadly neurotoxin! People with migraines, Parkinson’s, MS, fibromyalgia, and a myriad of other conditions, as well as healthy people, need to avoid Aspartame like the plague.
