However, there are clear mechanisms where the nervous system drives inflammation and pain (ie. antidromic firing and activation of neurogenic inflammation, or central sensitisation via disinhibition or activation of silent C fibers). One could posit these electrochemical happenings as “psychogenic”.

It causes both acute and chronic pain. It is interesting that it is often co-morbid with mast cell activation disorder, POTS and autoimmune disease. The American Journal of Medical Genetics March 2017 issue provides an overview on the disorder, including pain management. EDS has always been labeled rare, I think in time it will be identified as a spectrum disorder (see Golder Wilson’s MD work).

One other question I have is are there any natural substances which can act as a diazepam binding inhibitor? If they exist, could they help diminish some pain without the nasty adverse effects of long term benzodiazepine use.

Also, a new way to get oxygen to the cells and reduce discomfort is with the blood flow device I am using. It is a technology that stimulates the micro vessels and brings oxygen to the cells.

Dehydrogenase clears aldehydes from tissues, lessens pain in rodent models of inflammation) I suspect the researchers are closer to discovering a non-opioid solution to treating pain.

All that we are is physical. This is like positing there is some unseen unnatural force causing the pain. The article discussing the nature of psychogenic pain is from 1930!
