For example, I have MS. I am obese, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and I suffer migraines without ora. What kinds and levels of supplements should I take?

I was trying to figure out whether it could be taken with a t3/t4 rx of thyroid. Couldn’t determine from what I read so a bit afraid of buying nad. Great site. Very informative.

I am about to begin use of nasal NAD, this article was extremely beneficial to understanding what I might experience

But … the ETC requires NADH not NAD+ NADH donates electrons. NAD+ is the result not the driver of critical ETC reactions. It is the opposite in the Krebb’s Cycle where NAD+ is the driver.

The only relationship between the two the I know of is they both help the heart and increase exercise stamina. NAD increases the blood vessels in the muscles, helps with exercise recovery, and some studies have shown potential to help with heart issues along with repairing DNA and RNA in your cells. CoQ10 helps with exercise stamina and recovery, and is recommend for its potential to help heart patients. Most cardiologist recommend CoQ10 to their patients at many different doses( 400-1200). Those in a congestive heart failure study were given 1200mg CoQ10 with really good results.

After that time it is no longer detectable in the blood. No need for constant IV’s. There is a ceiling and it will not increase the NAD past the ceiling limit no matter how much you take. I am not discounting what happened to your husband. I know when you are desperate for help you will try just about anything. I would suggest that taking a precursor in the dose the scientist doing the studies recommend,on a daily basis, may be a better course of action instead of spending 10 thousand for a week of IV precursors. The NAD increase will not stay in your system more then a week and you are back to where you started. I am glad he is doing better and wish you all the best.

Deb

Increasing NAD helps with many other things including inflammation in the body so I would say NAD is the most important.

If “NADH is the most significant carrier of these electrons and it becomes NAD+ when it gives away those electrons.” Then should we boost the level of NADH instead of boosting NAD+ ?

My second question is: anti-oxidation and boosting NAD+/NADH … which one is more important to prevent age-related diseases?

Honest to God…my husband was on his last leg, had lost 50 lbs, was physically and mentally destroyed after 3 years of using IV drugs. He is a smart, wonderful man, highly educated, but suffers from bipolar disorder and was living mostly on the streets. He had been to countless treatmentd over the 3 years (which was a relapse that began after 9 years sober when he was prescribed meds for his MH issues that made him hypomanic — and then, the same psychiatrist prescribed ambient for severe insomnia that accompanied the hypomania.) it was 3 years that was a nightmare of inescapable suffering for him, his children and whole family. We stumbled upon IV NAD+ treatment and just knew we had to help him get it as a last resort. He wouldn’t be alive today if he hadn’t had it. I promise you, on my life, the recovery he experienced mentally and physically was a complete miracle. Im not able to provide any good scientific or medical explanation … but it worked for him. He’s been sober and his bipolar disorder and severe anxiety have been completely manageable and he’s healthy, happy, functional…and sober.
So, please don’t shoot something so amazing down that you really may not have enough first hand nor definitive information on.
It 100% worked incredibly well for my husband. He’s living, breathing proof. My boys didn’t lose their dad to cruel mental health illness and addiction.

These pills often contain Nicotinamide Riboside and Pterostilbene. Can anyone go to the doctor and request these two type of bloodworks you mentioned above? Where can you get such NAD therapies and Nutriceutical supplements, and which works vs scam? thanks for your time.

I now believe that mitochondrial health is everything. If one focuses on that, everything downstream will be aces. Focusing on NAD+/NADH is a fool’s game. Only your body knows the right amount of these and every other substance needed for life and health. Our job is to provide substrate… to eat a wide variety of nutrient-rich “live” food (“live” meaning it is not denatured), consume enough “good” fat to stimulate ketone production, avoid all carbohydrate-rich food, avoid all toxins, get outside in the sun every day, exercise sufficiently to prevent an over-abundance of free electrons from “rusting” our mitochondria, getting enough sleep to allow minor repairs to be made and the garbage to be taken out and – last but not least – to be at peace with ourself and live in the moment. Thanks for sharing, Peter.

The article I read suggested NMN would / could be a more effective supplement but I don’t think it’s available. Seems hope is dashed.

Tengo 58 años. Hago 20 dominadas en la primera serie, luego hago 9 series de diez elevaciones. Creo que el efecto es sinergico. Mejor sueño. Tomo astragalo. Leucina. Lapachona. Mejor humor, lucidez, sueños, libido. Todo aumenta la sinergia.
Aparento 40 años. Mas o menos.

I had used an extract of Japanese knot weed for years without any ill effects. I had minimal regrowth in areas on my head due to typical male pattern baldness. I read an article about piperin raising both the levels of resveratrol in the blood (2x) and casing it to remain in the blood for approx 3 to 4 hours rather than the typical 30 minutes. What was interesting was that I had substantial hair regrowth in the area above my ears and that hair came in dark instead of the salt and pepper grey that I was experiencing. So although this is anecdotal I would suggest that resveratrol does something. I would like to suggest if it had that effect on me perhaps it affects other parts of the body as well.
