I can also tell you that herx reactions when rapidly killing off infections do happen.
I had a blasto cystis hominis infection dectected by pcr dna stool test. A lot of docs say it’s harmless but that’s bull for a lot of people. It was seriously provoking my immune system and causing itching, stress and sleep problems. I did an eradication protocol using inulin 5 days a week and on the weekends a cocktail of oregano oil, phyllodendron andrographis and garlic taken twice a sat Saturday snd Sunday.
My symptoms went away over 10 weeks of this therapy and at the end of it I tested negative for blasto. But early on I got really sick from the die off. Really sick. Scary sick. Felt like I was dying sick. So I stopped the protocol for a few days and immediately the symptoms started to subside and I took large doses of milk thistle and within hours of the first dose was almost completely back to normal. After a couple of days of dosing up on the milk thistle I started back in on my blasto protocol and had no more die off problems.
I wasn’t sick from a communicable illness. Never had fever or appropriate symptoms for that. Just horrible headache and feeling of doom and digestive symptoms. That stopped almost immediately on stopping the inulin, and never happened again as long as I was on milk thistle to help my liver clear out the stuff that was being killed off. And clearly it was being killed off because I got a clear test and the symptoms went away.

The article should include that aspect because many people are confused.

However, it stimulates brain function and it raises my blood pressure so much that after 1 week I can no longer sleep. I’ve tried 5 different times over 2 years with similar results. Was doctor recommended and I would continue to take if it didn’t interfere with sleep.

So I stopped for two days. I went back to it the 3rd day, and I’m soo tired again. I’m supposed to go two three pills three times a day. But my doctor said just to stay with one pill 3 times a day for the next week and then bump up to two pills three times a day and so long. Will the tiredness ever go away!?

Hi Mandel, there are only studies about monolaurin destroying specific types of bacteria/pathogens available: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4924139/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4971593/

It is a gram negative rod. Also, rhinoviruses are the cause of the common cold, not the flu. Influenzae A and B cause the flu, which is more serious. Monolaurin is effective against Influenzae A and B. I take this every morning (I work around viruses and bacteria in a microbiology lab) and increase the dose to 3xs/day when I feel something coming on. It is GONE the next day! This actually kills the virus. Amazing stuff!

Hello Marilyn, at the moment there is no information on monolaurin’s possible drug interactions. You should consult with a doctor before taking this supplement along with those medications.
