My uric acid level in blood measured 1.3. What could be the possible causes and how can this be treated? I have severe discomfort in my right side joints – right wrist and palm joints, right elbow (multiple fractures in 1990 joined by nailing – elbow movement is limited & restricted), right shoulder pain, right ankle pain, right knee pain (Arthroscopy done in 2005 for a patella chip during an accident).

Hi Joe,
I discovered I had sub-optimal uric acid after entering my lab results into your lab test analyser. I then read the above article and checked out the SNPs that predispose people to low uric acid levels – I’m homozygous for the three SNPs listed. My question is: ‘is the treatment protocol the same for people with a genetic predisposition to low uric acid levels as for people who have abused NSAIDs?’
rs6855911 GG = 13% homozygous
rs7442295 GG = 9% homozygous
rs6449213 CC = 2% homozygous
