I see conflicting reports on the web. Your kind insight will be very helpful. Thanks

Do they not know that high levels of zinc may increase their risk of copper deficiency.

According to Harvard Medical School, the UL for zinc is 40 mg daily for all males and females ages 19+ years.

I believe 1 mg of copper needs to be added to 8 – 15 mg of zinc because of an imbalance of these two minerals.

Oral zinc above must be a typo.
Abstracts for both studies specifically reference sunscreen. Please review/correct? Thanks.

Just to add my testimony and help people who with so find solutions. Zinc literally upgraded my system. 5 years ago I had to change everything – allopathic medicine failed me dramatically – and finally I tried to get an understanding of health and cure myself. I detoxed for 5 years with major trials and tribulations, but all was worth it! However, I still got tired in the afternoon and was still feeling a bit too exhausted for how well I nourished (not as much as 5 years before where I literally had a hard time to get up at all). But I felt something still was missing. I took Zinc pictolated and literally wow! I had no energy slump in the afternoon and my overall cognitive perception went up at least 5-10%. Now I tried a lot of supplements and this intense breakthrough I probably only had with 1-2 others. Some supplements are very subtle some only seem to work for a short time and with most I felt nothing. However, I can attest what the author writes here. If fatigue is a problem even though diet and lifestyle has been duly taking into account – Zinc could be the missing factor. However, never take it on an empty stomach – people with low stomach acid can get extremly nauseous. So take it with food not later then 5 mins after a meal. Have fun on you path of empowerment and selfhealing. And again thanks for this amazing information you so freely share here! Shalom and Namaste!

I use zinc in the “Acetate”” as a throat lozenge to successfully prevent or lessen the severity of colds and allergy attacks. http://mindandbodywell.com/?p=385

A well written breakdown of types of Zinc and how they might be most effective as well as those that are least useful.

I do however find that anything over 40 mg per day seems to have pro-depressant and pro-brain fog effects.

I’ve supplemented with so much zinc in my life and i’ve never had the tally test taste bad yet.

There is a compound called zinc-carnosine which appears to cure gastritis. If I were you I would try this form of zinc.

I have CFS and my zinc always tests low. I have tried just about every form available and I always have the same experience. The first couple of days I get great results, huge increase in energy .. but then I get severe gastritis and have to stop. It usually takes 2 -6 weeks for the gastritis to settle down. I have googled and talked to many people but no one has an explanation for this. I do not have an ulcer or stomach acid problem, nor do I have H. Pylori. I dont suppose you came across anything during your research for this article??
