Very few Medical Doctors, (I personally known none), have knowledge on Histamine Intolerance. Even a well known and well versed allergist in our area has offered me little hope nor knowledge on the subject. I’ll spare everyone all the details, but my story lines up like a perfect storm of over-active Histamine response. Brain tumor, crani, more surgery, pain meds, radiation, infection in maxilla, etc have led me to this site and others to find out why the hell I suddenly in less than 24 hours had to move out of my home where I have 3 big beautiful labs, and the youngest of my three sons, and move in to a less “dusty” environment with my folks. Who wants to live with your parents at 42? Noone. So, my life has been on hold in a ton of ways. Yet, I refuse to give up. I refuse to be a victim of circumstance and neglect (by most physicians I have seen). The medical system as a WHOLE needs a major RESET button! From school to pharmacology to screening to insurance and all in-between.
Again, thank you for putting out real-life info as I am learning many others deal with Histamine issues.
God bless,
Amanda

She was born with a cleft palate (beautifully “corrected”); has pelvic floor muscles at 97% tightness compared to the norm around 32% ( from professional physical therapist’s diagnosis); TMJ; is a highly creative dyslexic with incredible mental recall.
She has had immediate headaches after being exposed to the packaging for a veterinary medicine and a prescription used for mastocytosis which I understood was an option for dealing with the nausea that continues after an episode. One other response which the allergy doctor admits to not knowing what is going on is a jerking response of her head which begins with what she describes as a “nerve pinch” beginning in the base of her skull and often causes weakness in one leg enough to make her fall.
I have seen seizures when I worked in the public school system and this looks similar to those. She will afterwards say she knows what happened but is asking herself, “What just happened?”.
Over the last two years she has been feeling “sick” after being in public places and feels her limit is about three hours before beginning to feel she needs to return home.
She is taking what I think is a Zyrtec type of medication 24/7 (increased dosage this year) but has to take half (or more) of a Benadryl or Chlorampheniramine to stop the reactions
Can you give us any insight into these occurrences?

I’ve just had a look at your Histamine Intolerance page because I have suffered terribly for over 40 years with itching and extreme anxiety.
This page has provided me with useful insight and information about the causes of Histamine Intolerance and how to reduce them.
I’m very grateful to you and please continue writing about this because it will surely help other people who are currently suffering with little or no relief.
Thanks again.
