My amino acid are all screwed up and no one is helping.

Glutamate 283.6 these are beyond above normal. No one has done anything.

I have an appointment with the metabolic doctor i was seeing before the tests. I have been seeing so many doctors and no one is listening to me or cares to find a solution.

I told my GP there is something wrong with my body odor and urine smell, my hands are extremely swollen with rashes on my palms. Both arms I have tingling sensation, numbness from shoulder to hands. My hands burn, itch and I can fold them, they are three times their normal size. My vision is blurry and I see lights streaking in both eyes. Memory fog, slurred speech, hard to concentrate. Eleven disk herniations, torn labrum left shoulder, torn meniscus left knee. I have trouble walking, its so hard to get up in the morning. I am in pain everyday, my situation is started with a horrible rash in 2012, Under arms, back of neck, under breast, inside elbows, and groan.

I am so upset and terrified.
Please help me, please.

Brenda

Mag T is a version that is great for the brain.

I do know too much MSG / glutamate can & will over time flood my brain & create a GRAND MAL seizure. Is a GABA supplement required to use to limit or control the Glutamate in the brain, or is glutamate required to make more GABA ? << That can be dangerous for me if glutamate is required, as I know some drugs with MSG's in them could cause seizures also.

He was only 33 when he died. I’m much older now than he was, idk how well any of this diet supplement will work for you , but I hope it does help. People have beaten their own ailments with diet and excercise diabetes being just one: take care and be kind to others but mostly take it easy on yourself. Stress over something outside of your direct control will not help.
Be well:

Thank you, LT

I just know some people get diarrhea from MSG. I have constipation and it is always relieved when I eat soy isolate protein (the highest source of glutamic acid).

So high Glutamate (or a lack of GLU receptors/hypersensitivity in the intestines) causes diarrhea and low Glutamate (or high amount of GLU receptors/hyposensitivity in the intestines) causes constipation.

(ALS). So glutamate is my problem. I would however love to find something other than Rilsuzole which blocks glutamate so I am told. Side affects liver which is bad for ALS patients. We need a good working liver. So far still up and able. Taking high antioxidants..

Thanks

We have 3 posts specific to blood brain barrier https://selfhacked.com/blog/fix-leaky-blood-brain-barrier/. Leaky gut post in the near future. We actually found very little scientific support for the GABA challenge but we discussed it anyway on the post https://selfhacked.com/blog/blood-brain-barrier-causes-tests-leaky-brain/.

Seriously, I’ve come to the conclusion that there are VERY few who don’t have a leaky brain & leaky gut, even if they have no idea about it. For example, consider the “GABA challenge” test, and the comments here:

Since collagen and bone broth are “all the rage” it can be impacting sleep in a big way! Plus, hardly anybody is “perfectly healthy” with all the food intolerances, toxins, pollution, EMF’s, and all the toxins that are impossible to avoid. Yes, we can decide what we eat and sometimes perfectly healthy foods cause inflammation that we are totally unaware of. Like, salmon or tomatoes or cauliflower or black pepper, etc…

If you have a leaky blood brain barrier and some issues with glutamate to GABA conversion, this can happen. It doesn’t happen to perfectly healthy people.

I know everyone is on the collagen and bone broth bandwagon and eating tons of bone broth but those two foods are high in glutamate and if you have trouble with glutamate, these Foods will wreck your sleep! Happened to me, I found myself suffering from insomnia after about a year of eating bone north or collagen a few times a week (not in excess). Once i took those Foods out, I was sleeping again. Too much glutamate will shut down GABA in the brain which is needed for sleep! And you will lie wide awake at night and have trouble shutting your brain off. Don’t take glutamine supplements if you suffer from being wide awake and trouble falling asleep.

I think this article would benefit with a short description of the distinction between glutamine & glutamate. I am very appreciative of your posts on orexin & oxitocin for my deficiency & will ‘see’ you soon with my 23 & me results.
