Antipsychotics are known to reduce levels of T4 and T3 significantly, and a long standing hypothyroidism can induce peripheral neuropathy, the mechanism isn’t known but the evidence is strong.

Ideally you want to know:

Free T3
Reverse T3
Free T4
TSH
TPO antibodies
TG antibodies

Dopamine and Thyroid Hormone have a complex interrelation and should both be monitored if being treated for hypo or hyperdopaminergic symptoms.

Psychiatrists continue to pump me full of Antipsychotics 27 years after my episode and they are causing my feet severe pain. What can be done?

They require antipsychotics (d2 antagonists). If you have low D2 receptors you want to LOWER them not RAISE them.

This certainly includes those with the Taqa1 polymorphism as they have between 30-40% fewer D2 receptors, and the treatment method is antipsychotics.

You won’t find any Doctor, or any research article where hypodopaminergic function is treated with dopamine agonists. Schitzophrenia itself is a hypodopaminergic condition, and is of course treated with antipsychotics.

But this same flavone is found in passion flower which has many advantages over green oat extract including price. Passion flower also fights opiate and nicotine addictions, asthma, is an anti-aromatase agent and can restore lost libido. It can reduce anxiety and promote sleep. it is an effective antioxidant, anticoagulant and monoamine oxidase inhibitor. It may relieve gastrointestinal distress and premenstrual syndrome, is antiinflammatory and can help lower blood pressure. Topical applications of passion flower can sooth irritated skin, including hemorrhoids. It may have many other beneficial uses but I haven’t done a complete literature search of it. Perhaps this will be a topic of a future article on this site.

So for those with MCAS who block H1, H2 And some H3 – since this has a part in pathways – makes sense that blocking those things could cause more issues with brain fog and memory issues. Trying to balance out dopamine levels and deal with other chronic issues a real challenge. I know calcium channels play a part in this. One of the mess for MCAS in addition to being a mast cell stabilizer is also a mild calcium channel blocker. Any thoughts?

We keep on worrying and wondering.
