And that in turn, affects thyroid, hormones, leptin…which are left out of whack. Thousands of those with lyme who have dieted, followed a nutritious diet, restricted calories, exercised to the best of their ability due to Lyme’s restrictions, have gained much weight. And didn’t have that issue before the infection. I am one of them. Thin my entire life, all the sudden 15 lb gain over 6 mos and nothing re: calories or exercise has changed. Besides the fact, even if that had changed a little, gaining that much over a short amount of time is ludicrous. CICO is almost totally ineffective in such individuals.
Thus, apart from addressing my low thyroid and hormones, I have zero control over my weight, until the infection is lowered. It’s absolutely terrible.
