You say that the diet lacks specific vitamins but then in the same paragraph explain how there are animal products that have plenty of said vitamin. Also the vitamin daily recommendations are based on the average person eating a standard american diet. Of course they are going to need more vitamin C, because their high blood glucose levels are taking up all the receptors for vitamin C. People on Carnivore need very little vitamin C because all their receptors are free. Also there are trace amounts of vitamin C in muscle meat and it’s more than enough to prevent Scurvy which by the way actually

However, she suffered the hair loss. Though that’s tapered off, her remaining hair is brittle, coarse, dull, and and getting thinner and thinner. It looks terrible and she complains about it but she’s bought into the meat religion, listens to “Doctor” Berry, but refuses to see the clear and obvious result.
This diet may work great for males in their 20s and 30s but if you’re a woman over 50 and you like your hair, the nutrition deficiency will ruin your hair. The hormones in American meat give younger males the extra darker hair. That’s great! However, that’s a lot of hormones.
The hair loss is touted by carnivore people as your body adapting. There is ZERO research to back that up. In all of human history, the only thing hair loss indicated was physical and psychological stress and/or malnutrition. That has been studied and proven.
Best of luck being a science experiment and risking your health eschewing vegetables. I’m no vegan btw. I eat everything. And I also spent 3 months in Antarctica alone on an expedition. I didn’t just eat meat. I had a varied diet. So I can speak first hand with No hair loss or other weird problems.

A more honest assessment of the carnivore diet would explain which nutrients are missing from a carnivore diet which includes meat, nose to tail meat consumption, seafood, fish roe, and dairy products.

Consuming carbs drastically raises your need for vitamin C since carbohydrates compete directly with ascorbate for entry into your system. The need for magnesium also goes way up when consuming carbs.

Talk to long term carnivores. Don’t just hypothesise. For example, carnivores need less vitamin C. Another one, carnivores don’t need fiber. It’s a completely different game. This is why it is said that you get completely new metabolism. It’s like giving advice to a gasoline engine owner on what is good for a diesel engine.

If you do carnivore right you will get way more than enough from liver (along with copper for balance). If I were to take a multivitamin, I’d actually prefer it doesn’t have stuff that I get in abundance, easily from my diet. What am I missing?

It was concluded that MX3 Capsule helps improve mobility together with a good and healthy diet.

Carnivores may run into some electrolyte problems though, especially when just starting, of after incorporating a lot of cheat days. Especially magnesium and salt are tricky.

You need far less on a carnivore diet, and in addition to that you functionally need far less antioxidants on a carnivore diet so your body can use what little you get for what it needs. Also it seems like grounding, despite seeming like hippie pseudo science, is proving to be a valid source of antioxidants via electrons much stronger than anything we eat. Don’t cheat with sugar, eat your organ meats, and maybe take a walk in the dirt every day. Think you’ll be okay. I am 8 – 1/2 years carnivore and have yet to get scurvy. I only cheat on xmas and thanksgiving day. 364 days strict meat fish fermented dairy eggs organs salt.

The RDAs are probably too much for the former and too little for the latter.

This means that people who eat less sugar and do not over-consume protein or carbs (people on a Nose-to-tail high fat animal-based diet) do not require as much Vitamin C as what you are saying. http://www.empiri.ca/2017/02/c-is-for-carnivore.html

We must remember that we are describing a system. When we change major components of that system (i.e. using fat for fuel instead of carbs and other such changes) then it follows that all other components will be thrown out of whack. We cannot assume that dietary requirements are the same as for those eating a Standard American Diet.

All my life I have been dealing with deficiencies in various vitamins and minerals. I just don’t seem to absorb stuff as well as others. For example, I am a carnivore and have low ferritin. As you my know, there isn’t a test for every vitamin and mineral and if there was I would drive my doc crazy asking for all of them a few times a year. So I supplement. A lot. I read through your list and I am supplementing most of the ones listed except Vitamin K, Folate and Copper (and Boron and Vitamin B-9?). I think the Vitamin K and Copper might be why I am low in Ferritin. The iron couldn’t be absorbed as quickly because of the lack of copper and I was bleeding heavily during my period because I am low in K2. I have been known to get bruises on my legs from resting my elbows on them.

You are probably wondering why I am on a carnivore diet if I have to take all these different vitamins. Well I have had IBS most of my adult life and I have had issues with my thyroid and I have had swelling all over my body. The carnivore diet got rid of all that and I had a burst of energy for a while. But it also introduced problems. My sight got worse and I started supplementing with Vitamin A and Omega 3-6-9 (which you don’t mention above). Then my jaw was sore (to move and to the touch), that went away with Vitamin C. Then my ankles and knees were painful to walk on and I fixed that with Magnesium and Potassium. Then I kept getting shooting nerve pain across my shoulder and I knew that I could fix that with Vitamin B12. This is where I am. I hope your list is complete because I am running out of room in my vitamin box and I don’t want to have to diagnose another deficiency. I wish I could take a good multivitamin but I have an intolerance to Iodine, and most of them include iodine.

Can you share some links to the ‘horror stories’ anecdotes? I’d like to read up on a few of those.

But one of the main claims of those who advocate human carnivory is that such RDAs are often inappropriate for those not on the Standard American Diet.

For example, the observation that “We have not seen case reports of people getting scurvy on a carnivore diet” is a hint that perhaps Vitamin C requirements are different when eating only animal products. And so on for the other requirements mentioned in the article.
