One morning way back when I was working our apprentice sliced the skin off the end of his index finger while wiping a planer knife blade he had just sharpened. It was bleeding profusely.
I got a sterile gauze and held it on the end of his finger until the bleeding stopped – then I took an ordinary band-aid, wet the pad with some boiled water, then applied some colostrum powder from a capsule I carried for such purposes to the pad – then applied it to the end of his finger.
I gave him the rest of the capsule and instructed him to dress it the same way before he went to bed each night.
That was 7 am on a Monday morning.
He came in Thursday morning with no dressing on his finger. The new skin had fully grown back in 3 days!!
