A ketogenic diet has been somewhat helpful, but it has been difficult to even lose 5 lbs, while my healthy male partner has dropped 20+ with almost no effort. It is really frustrating to have such a limited diet and see minimal results, but if I do start eating carbs again, I gain weight back very quickly and it is very slow to lose again. Will I have to be on a ketogenic diet forever? If so, I’d at least love it to be effective for weight loss.

I’ve had chronically high leptin serum levels since 2007 (+50) with no lifestyle factors at all – eat flesh and veges, low fat, good fat, exercise regularly. No endo seems to able to explain why. Some seem to think it’s irrelevant and I should just try “harder” to diet.

Focus on Treg and lowering Th17.
Then sleep well, eat well, reduce stress etc are no brainers.

I got into both categories. Over active and under active immune system. Severe allergies, hit, all sorts homozygous genes. I need to balance everything. How does one do that? High tnf alpha, tried enbrel that shot my histamine through the roof. Antihistamines make me worse by just blocking histamine and not breaking it down. Where does one start?

It depends on the context. Elevated leptin is like in very obese individuals. However, healthy levels of leptin and leptin sensitivity are good.

You’ve written elevated Leptin is pro inflammatory, but if you give Leptin to mice there has been shown reduced anxiety and depression, when we know that depression is caused by inflammation in glands in the brain, among other things. Crazy. For me this article is confuse. Revise it, please.

Daniel said I won’t be able to lose weight due to high Leptin in my blood. Ugh! It’s been quite frustrating. I also see where this can lead to an increase in Melanoma. And I have had countless “bad moles” removed wide excision this year. How can I, in layman English, lower Leptin? (Thank you in advance)

Could be lower leptin, lower VIP, higher NAD+, lower T3, a combination or other.

Could there be a leptin connection. I thought it might be ketones making the pain go.
