Also Garlic can easily be incorporated into a variety of homemade meals. Hence easily consumable, garlic is better and easy option to control appetite.

Thank you Ana!

I have been doing low carb myself and also drinking a supplement called “Tonic”

Can you let me know if you have tried this also? Or know of any others who have tried it please?

Heres a link Ana, https://bit.ly/3r7xNZO

Thanks

Rach.

I guess this means minimizing how much I go on my phone later at night (because I actually need blue light so I don’t compromise my vision!)

On another note.. I was a bit surprised to see capsaicin being mention. I was wondering whether or not to buy “the 21 day flat belly fix” but now I feel so much better about going through with it. You lose around a pound per day by activating a fat burning hormone, increase thyroid rate (also related to weightless), get clearer skin and increase energy; all while not making any dietary changes. I do plan on eating healthier but it’s nice to know my body will behave anyway lol.

It lower ur body temperature, therefore increaseing brown fat. There were studies done, people who took melatonin had increased HGH and lower fat % and higher muscle mass %

In addition, a lot of young women that become pregnant will not even attempt to get medical health insurance because they worry they probably would not qualify. Although a few states now require that insurers give coverage despite the pre-existing conditions. Charges on these kinds of guaranteed options are usually bigger, but when thinking about the high cost of medical care bills it may be some sort of a safer way to go to protect your own financial potential.

Some constructive criticism: :)

Blue/white light/circadian rhythm:
Most people are reading your site in which you recomend avoiding blue light for improved circadian rhythm and the multitude of downstream pro-health effects that has, in the evening, after work.
Yet your site has a white background and a lot of blue in it! :)
Check out Hacker Vision, an extension for Chrome that gives a dark background with light text and changes blues to oranges and reds:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/hacker-vision/fommidcneendjonelhhhkmoekeicedej
IMHO this extension makes your, and most sites, look as it always should given the above.

Lauric Acid (what prompted me to post):
Yes it does increase inflammation, but I think that is a short term effect due its it killing off (indirectly) a large # of pathogens that increase inflammation, TNF, NF-kB in the long term, which causes a decrease in telomerase/telomere length, which causes epigenetic changes to an older phenotype……..!

Basically Lauric Acid, and the similar acids to a lesser but probably synergistic degree, strip the lipid bilayer off of virii that have one.
These include all the virii you can’t get an immunization shot for like HIV, HSV, EBV, CMV (the immune system killer!) etc.
What this Lipid Bilayer does is disguise the virus as a nutrient to the immune system.
It also allows the virus to dock with and thus infect cells…
Strip the layer away and the you end up with an exposed virus, incapable of docking with cells and turning them into virus factories, just floating about, waiting to be taken out by the immune system..!

Virgin Coconut Oil or VCO also kills off a good number of bacteria that use a similar strategy, including Candida, a NAD+ and co. auxotroph…

I dont have the time/inclination to provide links to peer reviewed, published studies proving all this, but they are there.
Use the specific acid names and their monoglyceride names for better/more results.

Now this effect, as you might imagine, would certainly increase inflammation initially, but I would expect it to decrease to lower than initial levels in short/ish order..? (not yet researched by me)

NB Everyone:
– Once these virii have got inside cells; the VCO can’t touch them..!
– So while VCO is an excellent prophylactic; taking it until you feel better and then forgetting about it IS NOT AN OPTION! :)
– Some virii remain dormant within cells for a very long time, while others will ‘pop’ the cell, releasing millions of new virii in short order, but taking it constantly until all infected cells have ‘popped’ is required
– As the VCO only exposes the virii, bacteria etc to the immune system; Taking immune boosters like Olive Leaf Extract, Astragalus etc is probably a good idea. Especially in older and immunocompromised individuals.
– No; I don’t sell VCO! :)

There’s more Josh. A lot more! Other reasons for/ways to decrease NF-kB. You have my Email address. :)

My question – is it not simpler to wear a sleep mask for the entire night? Sleep mask would block all light to the eyes and would not require to rearrange anything in the room.

Not even a low carb diet could shift any kilo until I introduced metformin. In my country of birth (Romania), Metformin is sold without prescription so I got it easy. After three months on Metformin 1250mg/day and strict low carb, I lost nearly 8.5 kilos. I am not diabetic at all but I suspect I have some insulin resistance, hence problems in losing weight. Metformin sorted it out.

Glycemic load is what matters…

Fruits and potatoes have a low glycemic load.

1. Fruits other than grapefruit might not be a good idea as grapefruit juice lowers insulin spikes but sweet fruits rather cause them.
2. Baked potatoes might give satiety but they have a GI about 80-110 depending on variety and that makes them not so good for loosing weight.

Having less carbs are good idea but choosing the right kind of carbs might be even more important. I eat carbs rarely, but when I do my preferred source is buckwheat as it has low GI and it’s far more micro nutrient dense than any other common source of carbs eg potatoes, rice, grain products etc.

Next time I hear someone say “I can’t lose weight” I’m sending them to this post. Most people I know try 1 or 2 of these and give up.

I personally drink a lot of green tea and recommend it on my site for its many health benefits. But I’m not a fan of green tea extract. Extracts can cause both DNA damage and liver damage. Here’s a link to a study you may want to look at: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18484782

(I’ve got more info on this on the green tea post on my site.)
