Started taking Ashwagandha capsules one per day. It’s been four days. I had been having anxiety attacks and almost on the verge of depression because of that. My doctor had told me to start taking the anti anxiety med which I didn’t want to do. The second day onwards I started feeling better. I am only taking one capsule instead of the recommendation of three a day. But I have a little problem while swallowing. I hope it’s not because of the ashwagandha. My mom has neurological issues and I will ask her to start these too, will keep you posted how it goes. Hope it helps you all in any way in your research.

Does Ashwagandha ever cause urine to be slightly yellow colored or very mildly turbid as I only see this when I take it and urine is clear and colorless otherwise.

I had hyperthyroidism and took methenzole for a year and my thyroid levels are back to normal and I am no longer on prescription. Could this herb throw me back into hyperthyroidism or is it only dangerous to someone who is currently suffering from hyperthyroidism

Informative article. I’ve been dx’d recently w/Lupus & am looking @ Ashwagandha as a supplementary treatment. I’d like to get off the prednisone. I’m thinking starting w/a lower dose (200-300 mg) & then increasing it once I know it’s well tolerated? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ashwaganda is true adaptogen. If you are at base state, you will propobly not feel much effects. But for people out of balance it can be very powerfull tool. It is effecively antipsychotic. It ameliorate exhaustion. It improves sexual functions. And it is usefull preventative measure during onset of common cold.

How many mg of dosage I need to be consumed to decrease LDL level? My LDL level is at 4.01, while HDL is 1.1.

Currently I am on 1 tablet Asprin and 1 tablet of Blood Thinner per day.

Taking ashwagandh in pills is a waste of time and money. You need the pure dry powder. Anything else is placebo or worse.

Good article. Big believer in herbal medicine and this helped me a lot. Thankfully I turned down SSRIs offered by my Doctor faster than you can say ashwagandha.
BE AWARE though that certain herbs must be taken in a certain way. Taking ashwagandha tablets will do very little for two reasons. 1. The quantity is way too small and 2. that’s not how you take it. Ashwandha is properly taken as a heaped teaspoon of dry powder in a small warm glass of milk (with honey, it’s bitter) 3 times a day. The milk has fats that are essential when taking ashwagandha. This applies to quite a few herbs.

I started taking NOW brand Ashwagandha last Thursday and have had violent diarrhea ever since… Did not take it yesterday (Thursday) and felt wonderful. Took again today, and again diarrhea, sick stomach, and have thrown up 5 times.. What is the deal? I take in the morning with food…
